Half Life 2 ahoy!

Half Life 2, you either love it or hate it (latter invokes concerns about mental health) but I still regard as the best game on the PC. I can't brag that I have a amazingly fast computer on which I spend all my money, time and life but I do have a modest little box that I put together myself. For those who know what these mean here are the specs:

1ghz AMD Duron
448mb ram
Geforce4 MX 440 64mbDDR
1x 7 gb HD
1x 60gb HD
LAN
Modem
USB 2.0

Nothing too impressive, downright puny really but get this. It runs Half Life 2, the most technologically adavanced and almost most beautiful game in the world at between 10 to 30 fps constant (even 60fps sometimes).
Running Doom 3 on the same hardware gets a puny 5fps if I'm lucky. Though like everybody else on the planet, I find Steam to be picky, unneccasary and downright annoying (for those who feel the same I reccommend www.steamdown.org as a consolation prize).
If you have successfully endured the lengthy update for Half Life 2 Deathmatch and CS:Source then the first download I recommend is Garry's Mod which allows you to spawn and manipulate any item in the game with hilarious results. Bathtub races anyone?

If you haven't gone out and bought it, do.
And if you can't be bothered, um... don't.
